Weddings at the Brix on the Fox

About

The expansive building was constructed in the 1880s for the Illinois  Condensing Company later renamed the Borden  Condensed  Milk  Company.  The event space of The BRIX was originally a living area for cows.  The building was converted to other uses around 1920 and has had several owners since then.  The exterior and interior fell into disrepair.

The Borden  Condensed  Milk Company building was constructed using historic  “Haeger  Yellow  Brick” which adds to its significance.  The building was purchased by OTTO Engineering in 2014.  OTTO has had extensive experience returning dilapidated historic buildings to their historic condition.  An extensive renovation to the 32,000 sq. ft. building was completed to the exterior to bring the façade and interior brick to its original appearance.

The BRIX on the Fox, Inc. began interior renovations in May 2018 with the first wedding held September 2018 in the flagship Two-Sixty.  The Industria, a separate venue in the expansive building, was announced in July 2019 and hosted its first wedding on NYE 2019.

View from a Wedding Photographer

I always love coming here to photograph a wedding. The interior is spacious and unique. When you know how to light it, spectacular images can be created. Across the street is the river and a large tree, which is a great location for portraits. The sun sets on the other side of the river, so if there's an amazing sunset on your wedding day, you can get some really stunning sunset photos. With all of their lighting, the party really rocks at night. Not to mention all of the lovely staff that work here. The Brix is definitely a fun and unique venue for a wedding!
